MY HOPE
Through my art I long to portray the infinite wisdom and power of God, not because my art is so great that it could portray such greatness but because it is so small and meaningless in comparison to the work of our Creator's great and mighty hands. So many stand in awe of the creations I make with my hands yet they fail to acknowledge how wonderfully made they are, their bodies and their minds; they fail to look around and see the beauty that resides outside their very door; the immense wonders that our universe holds and how all these things were made for us and do indeed have an Eternal Creator. When someone visits my booth at a doll show or sees my artwork online they automatically know there was/is an Artist that created it, they praise me for the great job I've done and it puts a smile on my face; they would never reject the fact that I created my own artwork or claim that I was a liar and that logically the artwork I have presented to be my own came to be as a matter of chance and simply appeared from thin air! Why then do people claim this in regard to creation? Why is it that when we take a stroll in the park, or swim in a vast ocean, or feel the warm sun on our skin, we praise "mother nature" or biology or science etc. and not joyfully praise our Mighty God and thank him for all the beauty He's freely given us? I hope that when people see my artwork they can praise my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in knowing that I am but a creation of His and the artwork that I produce is a mere by product of his perfect creation and that however "awesome" it may be on this earth does not even reach the heel of His 'artwork'. I hope my artwork can stand as proof that there is a Creator that created us all, loves us, and wants a personal relationship with us.
